Description

Writtle University College, now part of ARU, specialises in animal and agricultural courses. Founded in 1893 as the County Laboratories, their now 150+ hectare campus includes dedicated equine and canine centres, the working Sturgeons Farm, landscaped gardens, glasshouses, and sports facilities, centred around the ivy-covered Main Building and Hall on Lordship Road.
ALS Labs Ltd were engaged by Ash Contracting as part of renovations to the Lordship Science Centre, utilising a "Super Lab" concept; large, divisible, flexible laboratory spaces with collapsible curtain walls able to break these larger rooms down into seperate teaching areas, in addition to smaller laboratory spaces across the ground and first floors.
